Miss Vista Back in Winning Form

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 28
Apache Cat wannabe Miss Vista was back in the winning groove at Moonee Valley on Friday with a tenacious win over 955metres in sub 56 seconds.

Miss Vista as a foal in 2012She's been an amazing looking horse since the day she was born and the Breednet Favourite Foal for 2012 showed she is a star on the rise with another promising win.

The George Osborne trained filly was a dominant five length maiden winner at Ballarat in March and then won at Flemington in April before heading to the spelling paddock.

Beaten for the first time when she led and faded for third at Caulfield on October 1, Miss Vista was tuned up with a recent barrier trial win at Cranbourne.

With Dwayne Dunn in the saddle, she took a sit for the first time on Friday night, travelling three deep and then powering to the line to win the 1000 metre scamper by a long head in 55.74 seconds.

"She found a good spot and toughed it out," said George Osborne.

"You can't be one dimensional, you have to have options.

"The best thing to come out of it is as that now we can try and stretch her out a little bit to get further."

Retained to race by her breeder Dick Karreman of New Zealand based The Oaks Stud, Miss Vista was foaled here in Australia at his Victorian property Glenfern Park Stud.

She has won three of four starts earning over $100,000 in prizemoney.

She is the first winner for Cape Tycoon, a placed Cape Cross (IRE) mare from the family of Group III winner Sam Sung a Song. Cape Tycoon produced a colt by Fighting Sun last year, who is unremarkable in colouring and has foaled another colt by the same sire this year.

Miss Vista has lit up social media and has developed a cult following in a short space of time.

Move over Apache Cat, Miss Vista is in the house!
