The John McArdle trained daughter of So You Think had been stakes-placed twice
previously and cast off maiden status with a stylish victory in the 2040 metre
open fillies and mares event.Ridden quietly from an outside gate by Jamie Mott, Smart As You Think stormed around the field to power home and win by half a neck.
"Bring on the Oaks!" said Mott.
"She's all class and will make a really nice staying filly."
John McArdle was thrilled with the performance and believes the best is still to come.
"She's a filly we have always had a big opinion of and always thought she was an Oaks filly, so it's good to see her get there," he said.
"We'll go straight into the Oaks now. She'll be a much nicer filly in six months time, so we need to space her runs."
