2016 Manikato Stakes – Firmers and drifters

Punters have supported multiple runners to knock off the favourite Chautauqua since final field betting started on Friday's $1 million Manikato Stakes.

The field was declared with barriers allocated on Tuesday and the Hawkes Racing-trained Chautauqua was a $2.40 top price favourite. In the past 48 hours, has eased to $2.50 while five of his rivals have firmed.

The second and third favourites, Capitalist and English have both trimmed as have Canberra sprinter Fell Swoop and Newmarket Handicap winner The Quarterback.
