Two more 2016 Caulfield Cup scratchings

A field of just 16 will start in the $3 million Group I Caulfield Cup after two horses were scratched on race morning.

It was reported on Friday that the Mick Price-trained Tarzino was in doubt and he was officially taken out of the race at 6.55am with a vet certificate on Saturday before Racing Victoria advised that the Ciaron Maher-trained Set Square was also out with a vet certificate after "stepping short behind".

Tarzino was a $34 chance with Set Square at $41.

The two emergencies for the race, De Little Engine and Vengeur Masue, made their way into the field on Thursday and Friday when Fanatic and Big Memory were taken out of the event.
