Luiza heading toward Inglis Banner

Breednet - Saturday October 15
Impressive debut winner Luiza is "right on track'' to keep her unbeaten record in tact in next weekend's $250,000 Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley.

Luiza's owners celebrate her win at Randwick last weekendLuiza (I Am Invincible x Zedski), trained by Chris Waller, scored an emphatic win at her only career outing in the Kirkham Plate at Randwick six days ago.

She was floated to Melbourne on Monday night where, barring any unforeseen hiccup, she will have her next start on Cox Plate Day in the Inglis Banner, which carries Restricted Listed status.

The 2YO Inglis Banner is the first of 13 races in the $5million Inglis Race Series for 2016 yearling sale graduates.

Luiza was a $150,000 purchase for Star Thoroughbreds from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at this year's Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Denise Martin of Star Thoroughbreds said she spoke to Waller yesterday about Luiza's progress and that the trainer couldn't be happier with the filly.

"She's an extremely professional filly and while things can happen with horses at any time, especially two-year-olds, at this stage that's our intention, to head to the Inglis Banner,'' Martin said.

"It looks like a lovely race for her. Many of her owners will be in Melbourne anyway for Cox Plate weekend and it's a great chance to run in a race for fantastic prizemoney on such a big day.''

The 2015 graduates race series is already well underway and there is a change of date for one race in that series, the Inglis Dash.

The $250,000 race for three-year-olds was initially scheduled to be run at Flemington on January 14 over 1100m.
