Vancouver to Shuttle to US

Coolmore Australia have announced that Golden Slipper winner Vancouver will reverse shuttle to Coolmore America's Ashford Stud for the 2017 breeding season.

VancouverThe best juvenile by Medaglia D'Oro, Vancouver had an unbeaten four start two-year-old campaign which started with victory in the Breeders Plate LR and included wins in the Gr.3 Canonbury Stakes and Gr.2 Todman Stakes before his Golden Slipper triumph.

He was transferred to Aiden O'Brien for a northern hemisphere campaign as a three-year-old however was retired before having a start there.

He is currently serving his first book of mares in the Hunter Valley at a fee of $66,000.

"I saw Vancouver in Australia last week and he's an exceptionally good-looking individual who should sire both racehorses and sales horses. I think US breeders will be very impressed when they see him," said Ashford manager Dermot Ryan.

"He's by a very good sire in Medaglia d'Oro and is proving extremely fertile with nearly 50 mares already scanned in foal.

"Our sire sensation Uncle Mo was also an unbeaten Champion juvenile at two, as was Shanghai Bobby whose first yearlings were very well received this fall and who Vancouver very much reminds me of. It all bodes very well for the future!"
