Damien Oliver will attempt to keep his Cox Plate booking on Vadamos when he appeals his controversial reckless riding suspension on Friday morning.
Stewards suspended Oliver for 20 meetings for reckless riding after deeming he turned his mount Flying Artie into Ken's Dream at the 600m of Wednesday's Group III Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m).
Oliver's penalty was set to end midnight on October 31, which would allow him to ride in the Melbourne Cup the next day, but the champion jockey has appealed both the stewards' verdict and the severity of the penalty.
The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board will hear Oliver's case at 10am on Friday.
