The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott training partnership will produce their first Pierro representative at Randwick on Saturday.
Pierro, a champion two-year-old and one of the best gallopers seen in the last decade, left Tulloch Lodge for stud in 2013 after five Group I wins from 1200 metres to 1600 metres.
In Saturday's Kirkham Plate (1000m), Pierro will chase his first win as a sire with his third overall runner China Gale, which finished third in a recent barrier trial behind Breeders' Plate winner Khan.
China Gale is out of the Encosta De Lago mare Rocha, winner of the 2008 Group II Wakeful Stakes.
"We've really got a high opinion of the progeny across the board, they've got fantastic attitudes and mentally they seem to be able to cope with all the work," Bott said.
"China Gale is obviously the first one to step out for the stable and he's one of the most forward of the progeny.
"He's done a treat since his trial and it's the right trial formline through Khan. We expect him to be competitive on Saturday."
As for Pierro's first season sire prospects, Bott is confident the progeny will be precocious enough to have an impact as two-year-olds despite pedigree suggesting otherwise.
Being by Lonhro from a dour northern hemisphere bred mare in Miss Right Note, there is a chance Pierro's offspring won't thrive until later in their careers.
"It's hard to say at this stage, they may throw back to his pedigree but on his racetrack performances it would be no surprise to see a lot of them come out nice and early," Bott said.
"And from what we've seen he's got plenty of precocious types.
"China Gale is the first one but I could name another 10 in our stable at the moment that are going just as well."
Tim Clark will partner China Gale from barrier seven in the field of eight on Saturday and online bookmaker Ladbrokes has assessed the colt at $8.
