Randwick Trial Winner for Your Song

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 30
Three juvenile heats at the Randwick barrier trials on Friday morning produced a stylish winner for Widden Stud's promising young stallion Your Song with Poetic Charmer scoring for the powerful Peter and Paul Snowden stable.

Poetic Charmer as a yearlingAllowed to find his feet early by Blake Shinn, Poetic Charmer steamed home along the inside under a hold to win the 735 metre gallop by a long neck.

Poetic Charmer was a $65,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Triple Crown Syndications / Snowden Racing and is the first foal of multiple stakes-winning juvenile Hoss Amor.

Hoss Amor has a colt by Medaglia D'Oro to follow for Yarraman Park and has already foaled this spring producing a colt by I Am Invincible, so this brilliant daughter of former Widden Stud favourite General Nediym is off to a flying start in her stud career.

A homebred for Gooree Stud, as was Widden Stud's outstanding sire Northern Meteor, Your Song is a top class Group I winning son of Fastnet Rock and has been afforded every opportunity since his retirement to stud.

He has two acceptors for the first round of Australian juvenile races this weekend with the Jon O'Connor trained Tabbing to run at Morphettville and the John Zielke trained Bold Kingston to run at Doomben.

Your Song stands at a fee of $16,500 this spring.
