Progressive
Hong Kong based bloodstock enterprise Sun Stud have expanded in many direction this
year with their Queensland and Victorian farms now home to 13 stallions.
On the racing front, Sun Stud are potentially poised for a big weekend with
their boom two year-old colt Condor Heroes set to make his debut in the Listed
ATC Breeder's Plate for the Gerald Ryan stable, while high class miler
Palentino (in whom they own a share) will carry the number one saddle cloth in
the Group I ATC Epsom Handicap.
Sun Bloodstock were active overnight at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in Ireland
securing two colts.
They paid 160,000 euros for an Invincible Spirit colt from Group III winner
Ponty Acclaim and 145,000 euros for a Kodiac colt from Mimiteh, a half-sister
to Group I winner Rosdhu Queen.
Sun Bloodstock already have a number of young horses in work in Europe
including promising two year-old Invincible Spirit colt National Defense.
Trained by Criquette Head, he was an easy debut winner at Deauville in August
and was then third in a Group III event at Chantilly.
