Gavelhouse.com to Launch in Australia

Media Release - Tuesday September 27
Online thoroughbred auction site gavelhouse will bring its new flavour of online auctions to Australian-based thoroughbred owners in November.

A valuable part of the horse trading landscape as a classified site for seven years,gavelhouse.com auction based format has been well-received in its New Zealand testing ground over the past six months.

Founder Gary Moore has keenly followed the progress of the new business model and commented.

"
Online auctions are the emerging force and gavelhouse.com continues to shrink the globe for bloodstock traders everywhere.

"It's bringing the industry in line with computer age trends, is highly cost effective and streamlines the process in reaching both local and international buyers."

To date the site has successfully sold horses for up to $138,000 in New Zealand proving that, when done properly, horses at both ends of the spectrum can be sold online.

An extensive database and the gavelhouse.com team's vast experience in marketing horses has seen successful international sales made to buyers in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia to date with more of these results expected for Australian-based sellers.

"We held the first of our monthly online auctions in April in New Zealand and since then have continued to improve the product and now we're confident it's ready to take it to a larger customer base" said Sales and Marketing Manager Haylie Martin who is delighted with the results to date and has enlisted Shona Dreschler as the site's Australian Sales Representative.

"Shona has an in-depth knowledge of the breeding and racing industries and will be an invaluable asset as our Australia-based client's main contact."

"I'm looking forward to assisting
trainers, breeders and owners in saving money by marketing their stock straight from the stables or paddock as well as ensuring they're getting the best possible returns for their bloodstock," concluded Dreschler.

Entries for the first online auction will be accepted on the fully self-service site from mid-October and are due by 5pm AEST on Sunday November 6.

The catalogue will be released online on Monday November 7 with buyers given one week to arrange inspections and do their due diligence before the bidding phase which runs from Monday 14 November to Thursday 17 November.
Shona can be contacted via shona@gavelhouse.com or +613 9614 4882
