New Stakes Success for Favourite Family

Tara Madgwick - Saturday September 24
Astute trainer Les Bridge has enjoyed much past success with high class Group II winners Miss Zoe and Utzon and produced another stakes-winner from their immediate family when promising Choisir filly Zenalicious landed the Listed ATC Reginald Allen Quality at Rosehill on Saturday.

A last start maiden winner at Warwick Farm on September 14, Zenalicious (images by Steve Hart)  handled the jump to stakes class with ease, powering home late for Tim Clark to score a length win in the 1400 metre feature in class record time over another progressive filly in Invincibella.

"We decided to ride her quiet from the awkward gate and knew that she was going to be really strong at the end of the 1400 metres," Clark said.

"We got the breaks when we needed and it was a pretty soft win on the line."

Zenalicious has won two of five starts earning just shy of $100,000 for her lucky group of owners who include her breeder Kim Harding, who also bred and raced her dam Zenith.

Zenalicious is the second foal and first winner for Zenith, a placed Fantastic Light (USA) daughter of dual Group II winner and $880,000 plus earner Miss Zoe, a half-sister to Group II AJC Villiers Stakes winner Utzon.

Zenith has a yearling filly by Bernardini (USA) and has already foaled this spring producing a full sister to Zenalicious, who is the 77th stakes-winner for perennial favourite Choisir.
