Final Field for 4YO Inglis Cup

Breednet - Wednesday September 21
Caulfield Racecourse will on Saturday host the final race for 2014 Inglis Yearling Sale graduates.

Boasting $250,000 in prizemoney, the third highest for the day behind the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes ($500,000) and the Group 1 Underwood Stakes ($500,000), the Inglis Cup for four-year-olds nominated to the Inglis Race Series will be run over 2000m.

It is an initiative introduced to the Race Series to support the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale's Blue Riband session.

Last year's winner of the inaugural Inglis Cup was the 2013 Inglis Premier Yearling sale topper FIREHOUSE ROCK (Fastnet Rock x Bird of Fire (NZ)) for David Hayes & Tom Dabernig.

Along with $137,500 in first place prizemoney, the training partnership took home a $50,000 Trainers Bonus, awarded to the trainer with the most winners in a series.

This Saturday Bjorn Baker is looking to make it one better on current rival Rod Northam.

Both are equal on the Trainers Bonus Table with two wins each.

The winning trainer of this race will receive a pair of premium Swarovski Optiks valued at $3,190.
