James
Harron Bloodstock and the Snowden stable came to the official trials last year
with a colt called Capitalist but whether one of their new recruits Khan can live
up to that remains to be seen.
Sitting behind the speed, the son of Exceed And Excel railed through gamely to
score narrowly from Showtime with the first two both turning in pleasing
efforts.
Khan is out of Mandawarra (by Daylami), a French bred unraced half-sister to
multiple Group One winning import Manighar.
He was bought by Harron at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale from the draft of
Glenlogan Park Stud for $260,000.
Showtime, the $1.1 million colt from the Team Hawkes stable gained plenty of
admirers also with his close second.
He showed good speed to lead and was ridden more conservatively than the winner
in the final stages so it would appear there is plenty of upside there for when
he makes it to the races.
1st – Khan (Exceed And Excel x Mandawarra)
2nd – Showtime (Snitzel x Flidais)
3rd – China Gale (Pierro x Rocha)
