The
Waterhouse/Bott stable combined with Western Australia's Mt Hallowell Stud with
Redoute's Choice colt Misty Lad to win the third heat.
Typical of Waterhouse trained youngsters Misty Lad had the most pace from the
gates, going straight to the front and kept going nicely under hands and heels
riding for Kerrin McEvoy.
He had been offered at the Inglis Premier Yearling sale in the draft of
Arrowfield Stud, selling for $150,000 to Mt Hallowell, Gai Waterhouse and Julian
Blaxland.
Misty Lad is by Redoute's Choice out of 1600m winner Anadan, a mare by Anabaa
from Gr.1 Adelaide Cup winner Demerger.
