Sepoy
had his 10th winner in the UK overnight when Executive Force made a
most impressive debut at Newbury.
A $200,000 guineas purchase, the William Haggas trained youngster started
favourite and produced a strong finish to win by over two lengths.
He is out of Cape Cross mare, Mazuna who has also left recent Gr.2 Middleton
Stakes winner Beautiful Romance.
Executive Force is one of four horses from the Haggas yard among the entrants
for the Gr.1 Dewhurst although the stable suggested they are taking a longer
term view to his progress.
Maureen Haggas, wife of Willliam, labelled him "more of a work in progress”.
"He is going to be a nice horse next year.”
The win takes Sepoy into the top 10 by winners on the UK First Season Sire
table, a list which also includes the Australasian based horses Foxwedge, Power
and Helmet.
