Foxwedge
produced his 12th winner in the UK on Thursday to take him into
equal second place on the first season winners list.
Having his third start, and first as a gelding, Battered raced on the speed
over the 1200m at Yarmouth and was too strong winning by three quarters of a
length.
Bred by Coln Valley Stud, Battered had been a 45,000 guineas purchase at the
Tattersalls Sale and is trained by William Haggas.
He becomes the 12th winner for Foxwedge in the UK and 15thoverall in the northern hemisphere.
The 12 wins place him equal second on the UK leading first season sires by
winners table behind tearaway leader Sir Prancealot and alongside Elzaam and Australian counterpart Helmet.
NZ based Power sits on 11 wins for the UK season while Sepoy is not far off
with nine winners so far.
