Ready To Be First

Breednet - Thursday September 15
One thing about Ready For Victory, he was always pretty quick off the mark.

Ready For VictoryMaking his debut at stakes level as a 2YO at Flemington, he produced a brilliant performance to win down the straight.

Such was the authority of this performance, leading trainer, Mick Price, decided to run Ready For Victory in the Group One Golden Slipper at only his second start and, despite racing greenly, on the reverse way of going and against the best juveniles in the country, the More Than Ready colt flashed home for a brilliant fourth.

Now at Sun Stud, Victoria after 3YO campaigns that resulted in a 3rd behind Press Statement in the Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas and multiple Group placings, Ready For Victory has got the very first mare he covered - Fire Song - tested in foal on Thursday.

A perfect illustration of the mares Ready For Victory has attracted for his initial season, Fire Song is a Group Two winner of five races and the dam of $400,000 earner Olympic Anthem (8 wins).

"It's not meant to be a reference to all the rain Victoria has had in the last week, but Ready For Victory has definitely taken to the whole stallion thing like a duck to water,” Sun Stud Operations Manager, David Grant, enthused.

"He's steadily working his way through his book of mares and it's always encouraging to get that first one away!”

Now, it's just a matter of time before we know if he's Ready to be first again with his initial runners in spring 2019!

Ready For Victory is standing the current season at Sun Stud at a fee of $9,900.
