Newgate is pleased to announce the addition of Mark Lindsay as Bloodstock Sales
Manager commencing Monday, September 19th.
"We are a young farm
with big aspirations that will only be achieved through long term & mutually
beneficial relationships with Australasian breeders," commented Director of Stallions
and Sales Bruce Slade.
"Mark is well respected through his experience and his good understanding of
the commercial reality that breeders face.
I look forward to his input of ideas and energy into our team as we strive to
offer breeders a service that matches our exceptional stallion line up."
Mark Lindsay was born into a thoroughbred breeding and racing family in New
Zealand, his grandfather Jack O'Brien having set up Sovereign Lodge Stud.
Mark took every opportunity to gain experience in the horse industry working
yearling preps for the masters Sir Patrick Hogan (Cambridge Stud) and Peter
Keating (Glenlogan Park Stud).
These connections led to him being awarded the IRT International Scholarship to study Horse Business Management at
Marcus Oldham College, Geelong. Further studies were done at Massey University where Mark studied a
Bachelor Of Business majoring in Financial Economics.
Awarded the 2007 NZTBA Sunline International Management Scholarship he gained
an insight into international thoroughbred operations: Cheveley Park Stud (UK),
Coolmore (Ireland), and Taylor Made Farm (USA).
In 2008 he joined Eliza Park and held the senior role as Head Of Sales and Nominations,
during which time he managed stallions such as Bel Esprit, Magnus and Written
Tycoon.
He also played an important role in the expansion of the farm into a major
player in Queensland, which ironically led to the creation of Newgate's Golden
Slipper winner Capitalist.
"I feel very privileged to be offered a start at Newgate. The staff,
roster and racing team are so dynamic, I feel like I have been asked to come
along for the ride with USA Basketball 'Dream Team' to win a gold at Rio".
