Monovale Farm offer selection of stock unreserved on gavelhouse.com

Due to the sudden passing of Paul Smithies there is a selection of broodmares and young-stock that will be offered for unreserved sale on gavelhouse.com from Cambridge-based Monovale Farm over the next week.

The
catalogue is now live online with bidding set to run from 7pm Thursday 8 September to 7pm Sunday 11 September.

Of the 20 lot offering there are 12 broodmares, seven yearlings and a three year old filly by Shamoline Warrior who is ready to go back into work.

Covering sires of the broodmares include Alamosa, Ekraar, Shmaoline Warrior and Echoes of Heaven while in the yearling selection there are some good trading opportunities.


The Smithies family have bred a number of Group One performers including Puccini, winner of the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby and the Gr.1 Thorndon Mile and his outstanding half-brother Sir Slick, twice winner of the Thorndon Mile as well as the Zabeel Classic, New Zealand Stakes, Waikato International Stakes and the Otaki-Maori WFA.

Gr.1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas and NZB Filly of the Year winner Platinum Witness, is another Monovale product as is Gr.2 Light Fingers Stakes winner Adrift, Gr.2 Hollindale Stakes winner Fulmonti, Gr.3 Taranaki Classic winner Magic Dancer, Gr.3 Desert Gold Stakes winner Pride Of The Class, Listed winners Majestical and No Tricks and the black type performers Pipi Beel, Ezra and Flying Orca.
