"We are absolutely delighted with the first foals by Time For War,” said Kitchwin Hills manager Mick Malone. "They are everything we hoped for. He's really stamping them with a great head and eye, good length and plenty of substance. Time For War is the spitting image of his sire Snitzel and he is passing on those looks.
"We've been out to farms across the Hunter and the foals we've seen have been outstanding. Proper athletes, who walk well and who have great presence.”
Time For War, who was saddled by Gerald Ryan, was a high-class juvenile, breaking his maiden pre-Christmas before he had actually turned two. He then went on to snare a pair of Group 2s, including the Sires' Produce Stakes in which he beat subsequent Group 1 winner Brazen Beau in a time that was equal to ten lengths faster than Zoustar had achieved the year before.
The Snitzel stallion, who is out of the winning Zabeel mare Lady Zabelia and who is from the family of outstanding performers Might And Power and Mosheen, is standing his second season at a fee of A$11,000.
