The
last filly foal from celebrated Coolmore matron Piccadilly Circus was seen in
action at the Moonee Valley gallops on Tuesday morning.
Unraced three year-old Uncle Mo (USA) filly Piccadillies has been nominated by
Lee and Anthony Freedman for the Listed MVRC Atlantic Jewel Stakes this
Saturday, but is no good thing to run.
"She's got a few options," Freedman told Racenet. "There's a nice race for
her the following week at Flemington.
"What would concern me about Saturday is if we cop a bad draw and if it
ended up a wet track - the draw is something that will not come into play down
the straight.
"I'd say she's 50/50 to run on Saturday. All things being equal I'm
probably leaning towards Flemington on Saturday week."
Retained to race by Coolmore, the half-sister to champion sire Fastnet Rock won
her only public trial at Cranbourne last year and is held in high regard having
been entered for the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas.
Dwayne Dunn was aboard the filly this morning working with stablemate Nozomi
over 800m in 52.08, the last 400m in a sharp 23.97 seconds.
By champion US sire Uncle Mo, Piccadillies is the last filly foal for
Piccadilly Circus who died last year leaving one last colt by Declaration of
War (USA).
