Champion
racehorse So You Think has sired his first Northern Hemisphere bred winner with
a Deauville victory in France for two year-old colt Neguev.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Neguev was narrowly beaten on debut on August 9
when finishing second over seven and a half furlongs at Deauville.
Sent back to the same venue and stepped up to a mile he won by half a length as
favourite.
Neguev was a 120,000 euro purchase from the ARQANA August Yearling Sale last
year for his trainer and is the second winner for Lady Bering, a half-sister by
Bering to stakes-winner Nova Step.
So You Think has made an encouraging start to his stud career in the Southern Hemisphere
with five winners on the board headed by Group II winner Gold Rush,
stakes-placed Conscious and Smart As You Think as well as promising winners
Inference and Kaching.
A ten time Group I winning son of High Chaparral, So You Think has covered over
700 mares in his first four seasons at stud and is priced at $49,500 at
Coolmore Australia this spring.
