A slightly elevated temperature means Xtravagant will not start at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
The dual New Zealand Group I-winner was nominated for the Listed Chandler Macleod Stakes over 1200m however senior part-owner Te Akau Racing has confirmed on its website the four-year-old will not be starting.
Xtravagant had a slightly elevated temperature on Sunday morning and was treated, his temperature returned to normal by Sunday afternoon.
"Last night he cleaned up all of his feed and this morning our co-trainer Steve Autridge said he was back to normal – no temperature and back to his happy self," the website said on Monday.
"We have decided that we will not run Blake (Xtravagant) this Saturday and run the risk of flattening him.
"However there is a very suitable race the following Saturday (10 September) at Flemington. It is the Group II Bobbie Lewis and we believe that he will be 100% to run in this."
