Promising
young Coolmore shuttler Excelebration (IRE) produced two new winners in the past
two days with the Wesley Ward trained Costa Esmeralda scoring easily in the US,
while at Goodwood in the UK Tara Celeb kicked off her career with a tenacious
win.
Narrowly beaten on debut in June, Costa Esmeralda was favourite for the five
and a half furlong maiden on turf at Ellis Park and gave punters no cause for concern
when cruising home to win by my more than four lengths.
The Mick Channon trained Tara Celeb was slowly away in her six furlong maiden,
but recovered to win by a neck in a good
tough performance.
A high class Group I winning miler by Exceed and Excel, Excelebration has now
had eight first crop winners in the Northern Hemisphere and a further 11
place-getters.
His first Australian runners are two year-olds and he is back at Coolmore this
spring at a fee of $13,750.
