The
winners keep coming in the Northern Hemisphere for Newgate Farm's Foxwedge with
Peak Princess earning a lucrative Tattersalls bonus when scoring at Beverley,
while King of Spades saluted at Deauville.
The Richard Hannon trained Peak Princess scored over seven furlongs by two and
three quarter lengths at her second start having finished second at Newmarket
on debut last month.
Owned by Rockcliffe Stud, Peak Princess collected a £25,000 Tattersalls October
Book 1 Bonus for her victory.
"Peak Princess is still learning and it was as much about teaching her today.
She´ll get further and she has a bit of size about her, so hopefully she can
develop," said winning rider Dane O´Neill.
Peak Princess was purchased from the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book One
on behalf of Rockcliffe Stud for 90,000 guineas by Ed Sackville of
Sackville/Donald.
She is from Foot of Pride, a half-sister by Footstepsinthesand to the dam of
globe-trotting Group I sprinter Gordon Lord Byron.
Foxwedge has sired 22 winners in both hemispheres and stands this spring at a
fee of $22,000.
