Golden
Slipper winner and Champion 2YO Sepoy sired his second stakes-winner overnight
in the UK with speedy filly Kilmah taking out the Group III Prestige Stakes at
Goodwood.
Purchased for just 32,000 guineas by her trainer at the Tattersalls October
Yearling Sale, Kilmah was the first winner for Sepoy in the Northern Hemisphere
when saluting at Newmarket back in May.
She's had four runs since then without winning before producing her best to
take this seven furlong assignment by a neck.
"I´m so delighted that I ran Kilmah as it would have been easy to have found an
excuse. She disappointed terribly at York but she seemed perfectly well and I´m
not one for looking for excuses if there isn´t one there so I wanted to find
out on the racecourse. She´s a beautiful filly and there´s a lot to dream about
for next year," said Mark Johnston.
A half-sister to stakes-placed Tears of the Sun, Kilmah is the second winner
for stakes-winning Act One mare Perfect Star.
She is the second stakes-winner for Sepoy in the UK joining Baileys Showgirl.
