Brighthill
Farm's promising young sire Dalghar (Fr) added another Australian winner to his
tally with an impressive debut victory at Newcastle on Saturday for the James
Cummings trained colt Power Law.
He made light of the heavy conditions to score a dominant length and
three-quarter win in the 1350 metre maiden.
Power Law was a $67,500 NZB Ready to Run Sale purchase for DGR Thoroughbreds
from the Brighthill Farm draft and is the first winner for Philippa Chelsea, a
half-sister by Viscount to the dam of Group II winner Obsession.
Further back in the pedigree is 2015 European Horse of the Year Golden Horn, so
it seems likely Power Law will be even better over further.
A Group winning half-brother by Anabaa to Group
I sires Dalakhani and Daylami, Dalghar has made an encouraging start to his
stud career with five winners in Europe from his first small crop that are now three year-olds and five in Australia/New Zealand.
His five local winners have come from just 11 runners in Australia/ New Zealand, so it's been an eye-catching start.
Dalghar stands at a fee of $8,000.
