Australian
bred mare Acrostar scored her second Black Type win on Friday when taking out
the Listed Jockey Club Stakes at Fairview in South Africa.
A spritely six year-old by Danehill Dancer (IRE), Acrostar is prepared by
Justin Snaith.
She scored a head win in the 2000 metre feature, her sixth win from 26 starts.
A $340,000 Inglis Easter purchase for James Bester Bloodstock from the Coolmore
draft, Acrostar runs for Mrs Sabine Plattner and is the first winner for Group
I Tatts Winter Stakes winner Nova Star.
Nova Star has a yearling colt by Pierro and was covered last year by Deep
Field.
From the last Australian bred crop of foals by veteran sire Danehill Dancer,
Acrostar is one of 171 stakes-winners worldwide for the son of Danehill.
