First Foal for Zebedee

Media Release - Friday August 19
Cornerstone Stud's exciting young shuttler Zebedee (by Invincible Spirit), the Champion European First and Second Season Sire by winners in 2014 & 2015 has had his first Australian foals on the ground.

With mares coming from all corners of the country to visit Zebedee last year, the first known to have been born is a colt that was foaled this week at the Satchell's Willow Grove Stud in South Australia. (Just 6 hours old in the photos)

Out of three-time winner Angel of Hope, a daughter of Choisir and a three-quarter sister to Personal Ensign (dam of Fontiton), this colt is reported as being exactly the muscly type what you would expect to breed on such a cross. A well-conformed individual with plenty of size and bone.

Cornerstone Stud's Ross Hatton commented that, "Having supported Zebedee so well in his first season, it is very fitting that Ralph, Linda and Tim Satchell have what we believe is the first foal by him and we wish them every success with this colt and the many more to follow for them."

"With about 75% of all Zebedee's European winners that are out of Danehill line mares being winners as 2YO's, chances are very high that we will be seeing this colt in the winner's circle as in just over two years' time," Hatton continued.

"Zebedee has sired almost eighty 2YO winners in his first three crops to race in Europe, they run early, they win early, they train on and keep on winning. I am adamant that Australian breeders, owners and trainers will love them for their precociousness, durability and attitude," added Hatton.

Zebedee will stand at a fee of $16,500 inc. GST in 2016 and places are still available in his book.

For anyone considering Zebedee as a mating for their mare this coming spring, please contact Ross Hatton on 0487 173 989 or Sam Hayes on 0438 767 227. Ross will be in Melbourne attending the Inglis August Thoroughbred Sale today (Friday 19th August) and will be delighted to chat about Zebedee if approached.
