Talented
colt Ultimate Avenue made light work of a high-class Newbury maiden on Friday
to provide more first-crop success for Coolmore young gun Excelebration (IRE),
who is back in Australia this spring.
The Ed Walker-trained colt made nearly all the running before powering clear in
the final furlong to see off 12 rivals and win the seven furlong maiden by a
length and a half at his second start.
Bred by Brian O'Neill, the colt had realised €340,000 at Goffs last year when
selling to SackvilleDonald. He is the first winner for Sadler's Wells mare
Dance Avenue.
Excelebration also enjoyed success earlier in the week when Fulminato won a
maiden at Bremen in Germany for trainer Andreas Lowe.
A Group I winning son of Exceed and Excel, Excelebration has had six winners in
total and stands this spring at a fee of $13,750.
His first Australian runners will step out this season.
