Another Australian Winner for Dalghar

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 12
Brighthill Farm's promising young sire Dalghar (Fr) added a new Australian winner to his tally at Northam on Thursday with a determined win for short priced favourite Queen's Parade.

DalgharHaving her fourth start, the Darren McAuliffe trained filly had raced greenly in previous runs but put it all together for this 1400 metre maiden to win by a long head.

A $35,000 Magic Millions Perth purchase from the Botsky Pty Ltd draft, Queen's Parade is a half-sister to Group II placed Spirit Bird and is the second winner for Press Leak (USA).

Queen's Parade is the second Australian winner for Dalghar, who is also the sire of smart Sydney metro winner Golden Organic and the New Zealand based stakes-winner Astara.

A Group winning half-brother by Anabaa to Group I sires Dalakhani and Daylami, Dalghar has made an encouraging start to his stud career with five winners in Europe from his first small crop that are now three year-olds and four in Australia/New Zealand.

His four local winners have come from just 10 runners in Australia/ New Zealand with three of his other offspring finishing second, so it's been en eye-catching start.

Dalghar's owner Neven Botica has been thrilled with his success and believes there is more to come.

"The great news for the future is that we have some outstanding yearlings this year which include a full brother to Astara, full brother to Golden Organic, a full brother to Queen's Parade and a colt out of Real Pzazz the dam of promising galloper Pattern and the dam of Pasadena Girl," Botica said.

"This is to just name few of the prospects to fly the flag for Dalghar well before this year's matings hit the track."

Dalghar stands at a fee of $8,000.
