High-profile New Zealand breeder-owner Kevin
Hickman has welcomed valuable additions to his bloodstock portfolio on both
sides of the world.
His former top-class galloper Silent Achiever produced a filly by the
outstanding Frankel at Brook Stud in England overnight while a colt by the
unbeaten champion's associate sire Dansili was foaled at Hickman's Matamata
property, Valachi Downs.
It was Silent Achiever's first foal and she will make a return visit to the
multiple Group One winner Frankel, who stands at Juddmonte Farms' Newmarket
base at Banstead Manor Stud.
A son of Galileo, Frankel has made a stunning start to his stallion career with
nine winners from 14 runners to date, including Group III Princess
Margaret Stakes winner Fair Eva and the black type performers Cunco,Queen
Kindly and Frankuus.
"Silent Achiever will be going back to Frankel and at this stage the foal will
stay up there until she is weaned and then come home," said Jonathan Scully,
who manages Valachi Downs.
"She was bred to Southern Hemisphere time and Kevin was over the moon to get a
filly."
Silent Achiever was trained throughout her career by Roger James and the
daughter of O'Reilly and the Zabeel mare Winning Spree won 10 races, including
the Gr.1 New Zealand Derby and the Gr.1 New Zealand Stakes and in Australia the
Gr.1 Ranvet Stakes and the Gr.1 BMW.
Hickman's Dansili colt is out of Raskova, an American-bred stakes placed
daughter of Henrythenavigator.
"She's related to Street Cry and to Shamardal and she'll be going to So You
Think next," Scully said. – NZ Racing Desk.
