Not that he was a slouch before this – he was Queensland's Champion First Season Sire and followed that up the following year with being the highest ranked Queensland sire on the Australian Second Season Sires table.
But with his oldest turning five years just over a week ago, Red Element has really bounced out of the gates running, notching up five winners – four of which had just turned 4 years old – in as many days.
The first of his five winners was Morning Fog, who scored for Liam Birchley at Doomben on 3rd August, her fourth win from only 9 starts. Red Element followed this up with a winner on Friday 5th and three winners on Saturday 6th.
On the 16/17 Australian General Sires table, that puts him on equal terms by number of winners with Snitzel, High Chaparral and Strada , with only Fastnet Rock, Encosta De Lago and Commands having more winners (six each).
Both Red Element and his 'running mate' Dreamscape retired to stud in 2010, the latter commencing his career in NSW. They have excellent career winners-to-runners statistics, with 51.5% of Red Element's runners winning races and 48.3% of Dreamscape's also saluting.
Standing at Lucas Bloodstock, both are amazing value for money. Red Element stands for an advertised stud fee of only $3,300 this year, while Dreamscape is offered at $4,400.
With wins generated
by around half of all their runners, breeders are understandably keen to be
involved.
