The Factor, From Hot to Hotter

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 8
With two impressive winners in two days at the major summer meetings in the US, Newgate Farm's young shuttle sire The Factor (USA) has some of the best judges in the world singing his praises.

Noted and Quoted - Del Mar TwitterTwo year-old colt Fact Finding scored at Saratoga on Saturday for the Todd Pletcher stable, while on Sunday it was the turn of brilliant filly Noted and Quoted, who bolted in at Del Mar.

The Bob Baffert trained filly was in a class of her own as she cruised clear to win over six furlongs by nine and a half lengths. Watch her win here.

A $160,000 OBS August yearling, who made $375,000 at the OBS March 2YO Sale earlier this year, Noted and Quoted runs for Speedway Stable and is the third winner from stakes-winner Silver Cub.

With five winners in North America highlighted by Fact Finding and Noted and Quoted, The Factor is making his presence felt in a big way.

"It takes an exceptional young sire to have 2yos win first time out in that style at Saratoga and Del Mar," said SF Bloodstocks Tom Ryan.

"He is showing all the hallmarks of a young stallion with a very important future."

The FactorA dual Group I winning son of War Front, The Factor was the talking horse at North American Yearling Sales last year when his progeny sold for up to $750,000.

"The word has been so strong on The Factor two years olds all year," said the USA's leading Bloodstock agent John Moynihan.

"It's great to see his first 2yos step out in such dominant style. It's very exciting!"

The first Australian bred yearlings by The Factor will be offered at sales in 2017 and he returns to Newgate Farm this spring at a fee of $16,500.
