Danehill (USA) mare Spire has been an outstanding producer for Torryburn Stud
leaving Group III winner Under the Eiffel and stakes-winner Tower of Lonhro,
who between them have won over $1million in prizemoney.
She featured at Eagle Farm on Saturday when lightly raced six year-old San
Telmo scored a dominant length and three-quarter win over 1600 metres at his
second run for new trainer Bradley Smith.
A $110,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Torryburn draft for his previous
trainer Anthony Cummings, the Authorized (IRE) gelding has won two races and
placed eight times from just 13 starts winning over $90,000 in prizemoney.
San Telmo is one of five winners from Spire, who has a two year-old colt and
yearling filly by so You Think and will foal to Shooting to Win this spring.
