One to Watch – Wyong

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 5
This lightly raced Vinery Stud owned mare was an obvious standout as the 'One to Watch' from Wyong on Friday.

A half-sister by More Than Ready (USA) to US Group II winner Friesan Fire from Group I STC Coolmore Classic winner Bollinger, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Madame Lily is a blue-blood of the highest order.

Madame Lily as a yearlingSecond to subsequent stakes-winner Yattarna when making her debut at Canterbury back in January, Madame Lily was a short priced favourite in the 1100 metre maiden.

She raced up on the pace and forged clear to win by a length and a quarter having no issue with the heavy conditions.

Madame Lily was retained to race by Vinery and partners after failing to meet her $500,000 reserve at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

She is the fifth winner from five foals to race for Bollinger, but is her first bred here in Australia, the daughter of Dehere (USA) having started her stud career for Vinery in North America.

A half-sister to stakes-winner Sheraton and Mannington, the dam of Group I winner Benicio, Bollinger is from Golden Slipper winner Bint Marscay.

Vinery Stud sold an All Too Hard colt from Bollinger at Inglis Easter this year for $250,000 to Ciaron Maher Racing.
