Trained by Leon and Troy Corstens, Deal Master was easy in the market but belied the lack of interest from punters to bounce straight to the front and lead throughout.
He travelled smoothly on the fence for Daniel Moore and kicked strongly down the running to win the 1000 metre maiden by a length and a quarter eased down.
"I give him credit for that win because it was much better than it looked," Moor explained.
"I was cursing the way the race panned out. I've been working him off the speed at home but we landed in front on the rails.
"I got him to relax and he gave a good kick in the straight. I was waiting for the others to come and blouse us out but he was real strong on the line."
