Tycoon looks set for a big week with the return of his Golden Slipper winning
son Capitalist this Saturday in the Group II ATC Missile Stakes and the reigning
Champion 2YO Sire featured at Warwick Farm on Wednesday with a promising winner
for Star Thoroughbreds.
A $175,000 Magic Millions purchase for Star Thoroughbreds, striking colt Pound
Sterling is from Spring Collection and came from the same draft as Capitalist, Daandine
Stud,.
The pair are also bred on the same cross, both being from daughters of Fusaichi
Pegasus (USA).
Capitalist might have been the first of them to get up and going, but Pound
Sterling might find his turn to shine is just around the corner judging by this
successful return.
Spelled after two modest runs in March and April, Pound Sterling showed he was
back in a big way with a dominant three length trial win at Randwick on July
15.
He produced that form on race day, travelling up on the pace and powering clear
to win the 1100 metre maiden by a length and a quarter.
Entered for the Group I ATC Golden Rose and MRC Caulfield Guineas, Pound
Sterling has taken his first step on the path to spring success.
