Exciting Pluck 2YO Sold to Hong Kong

Tara Madgwick - Friday July 22
A first crop son of Vinery Stud's promising young shuttle sire Pluck (USA), talented juvenile Pluck That has been sold and will do his future racing in Hong Kong.

Pluck That - Trish DunnellPrepared by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, Pluck That scored an impressive four and a quarter length victory at Te Rapa last weekend.

Pluck That was purchased for $20,000 at last year's NZB Ready to Run Sale by Andrew Forsman and has provided a quick return on investment.

Fourth on debut in the Listed Castletown Stakes, Pluck That notched his first victory at Te Teko last month before his Te Rapa triumph prompted offshore interest.

Part-owner David Kneebone, whose brother Bernard was also one of several owners in the two-year-old, had mixed feelings about the sale but paid credit to Forsman for his role in the deal.

"Personally, I was pretty happy to see him carry on racing here," said Kneebone, who has enjoyed previous success with top flight gallopers Sangster, El Roca and Barside.

"I was happy either way, but I could see he was a really good horse and we could see the potential he had. But overall it's a bloody good result and really well done by Andrew Forsman. It's the old maxim, you never risk a loss when you can make a profit." – NZ Racing Desk.
