One to Watch - Gosford

Tara Madgwick - Thursday July 21
In-form Jindera Park based sire Duporth had a winning juvenile double at Gosford on Thursday and one of those winners is our 'One to Watch' for Thursday.

A homebred for high profile breeder Neil Werrett, the Gerald Ryan trained filly Vienna Romance opened her account with a dominant two and a half length win in the 1000 metre maiden as favourite.

DuporthFourth at her first start when drawn wide and luckless behind subsequent metro Saturday winner Thronum, Vienna Romance has plenty of ability and can obviously handle wet ground which can be an asset heading into spring.

Vienna Romance is the second foal and second winner for Viennese Lass, an unraced three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I winner and sire Snitzel from the family of stakes-winner Snippets Lass and her other star stakes-winning offspring Hinchinbrook and Viennese.

Kitchwin Hills sold the current yearling from Viennese Lass, a filly by Husson (Arg) at Magic Millions for $230,000 to Millsy Girls Racing/ Gerald Ryan.

Vienna Romance's sire Duporth has been hot to trot of late siring 15 winners sicne the start of the month and stands at Jindera Park at a fee of $6,600 this spring.
