One
of only four first crop sires to produce an Australian stakes-winner this
season, Darley's triple Group I winner Helmet added a new winner to his tally
in the UK overnight.
Prepared by Kevin Ryan, two year-old filly Bongrace improved at her fourth
start to post a length win over seven furlongs.
"Bongrace has been learning all the time and the faster ground made all the
difference. I am sure she will make further progress," said winning rider Kevin
Stott.
Bongrace is a half-sister to Group II winner Firth of Fifth and is the eighth
winner from terrific producer Wish List.
She is the 11th winner for Helmet, who has two winners in Australia
including stakes-winner Archives, eight in the UK and one in Sweden.
The Caulfield Guineas winning son of Exceed and Excel stands at a reduced fee
of $16,500 at Darley Victoria.
