Sheikh
Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum's Shadwell has enjoyed much success in South Africa
with Australian bred two year-olds this season and claimed another win at
Greyville on Wednesday with an Aussie youngster they bred themselves.
Prepared by Mike de Kock, Magic Albert colt Qeyaadah finished second at
his first three starts and broke the ice
to win over 1400 metres by two and three-quarter lengths at his fourth start.
Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, Qeyaadah is a half-brother to Group II
placed Ataab and is the third winner from three to race from metro winner Azwa,
a half-sister by Haafhd to South African Group II winner Mujaarib.
Azwa has a Stratum rising two year-old colt called Malzoom and a weanling filly
by Bernardini (USA).
After many successful seasons at Yarraman Park, Magic Albert has relocated this
spring to Kooringal Stud at Wagga and stands at a fee of $8,800.
