Artie
Schiller has enjoyed a strong season, particularly with his two year-olds led
by Golden Slipper placegetter Flying Artie and he produced an impressive winner
with some more upside on Sunday.
Unlike Flying Artie, Back To The Bowler isn't likely to be heading into any Group
One races in the spring but the way he won at Sale showed it's not going to be
his last.
Having debuted on June 18 in tough Saturday company at Moonee Valley where it was
all too much, he appreciated some easier pickings this time around when putting
more than three lengths on the opposition.
There was a measure of progress involved also though which suggests a horse
heading the right way and with winter fields and soft tracks prevailing for a
while longer, trainer Stuart Webb shouldn't have too much bother finding
another suitable race.
Back To The Bowler is the eighth juvenile winner for Artie Schiller this season.
He was offered at the second session of the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale
by Caithness Breeding with Aquanita Racing the buyers for $31,000.
Artie Schiller is standing the coming season at Emirates Park at a fee of
$22,000.
