With less than $100,000 separating the top six stallions, the First Season Sires title looks likely to go down to the final few days of the season.
Darley stallion Skilled is not among them but he
gone quietly about his business with four winners from seven starters.
His latest winner is the Andrew Williamson-trained filly Trampers who improved on her debut fourth over 900 metres at the Gold Coast to lead every step of the way in a 14 runner maiden over 1200m on the same track on Saturday.
Bred by Vine Street, Trampers is the fourth foal and third winner out of the Dolphin Street mare Star Tour a three-quarter sister to Group1 Blue Diamond Stakes hero Road To Success.
Winner of the Group 1 Champagne Stakes at Randwick at two, Skilled will stand the coming breeding season at Northwood Park in Victoria at a fee of $6,600 inc. GST. His three-quarter brother Sidestep stands at Kelvinside in New South Wales for $11,000 inc. GST.
