Thought
good enough to run in the Group I VRC Oaks and BRC Queensland Oaks, Commands
filly Dulverton duly thrashed the opposition when dropped back to midweek grade
at Sandown on Wednesday.
The Robert Smerdon trained filly rebounded from her unsuccessful trip to
Queensland to romp away and win over 1600 metres by nearly five lengths.
A $180,000 Inglis Easter purchase for David Redvers from the Trelawney Stud
draft, Dulverton runs for Qatar Bloodstock and is a half-sister to Group I
winning juvenile Warhorse and stakes-placed Epona Princess.
She is one of four winners from Rathlin Island, a half-sister by Giant's
Causeway (USA) to brilliant Group II winning sprinter California Dane.
