His full sister made $1million at the recent Magic Millions Broodmare Sale and while this three year-old gelding may never soar to her heights he is now a winner after saluting at Gosford on Friday.

A full brother to Group I ATC sires Produce Stakes winner Peggy Jean, the Gerald Ryan trained Loverboy Charlie scored easily by two and half lengths over 1000 metres.

MyboycharlieIt was the third start for the son of Myboycharlie (IRE) and his first since being spelled and gelded, which has obviously resulted in a big improvement in the talented youngster.

A $110,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Phoenix Broodmare Farm draft, Loverboy Charlie is the second foal and second winner for Lady of Love, who comes from the family of Group I winners Lady Jakeo and Mrs Onassis.

The current yearling from Lady of Love, a colt by Beautiful Crown (USA), sold for $45,000 at Magic Millions this year and she is due to foal this spring to Hinchinbrook.

A proven Group I producing sire with VRC Oaks winner Jameka his current flagbearer, Myboycharlie returns to Vinery Stud this spring at a fee of $11,000.
