The
$100,000 Gold Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill on Friday was won by the Godolphin
entry Dissolute, whose dam was on-sold last year by Darley.
Finishing midfield at his past two runs in stakes company, the John O'Shea
trained son of New Approach (IRE) appreciated a drop in class to power clear
and win the lucrative 1200 metre sprint by a length and three-quarters.
Dissolute is a half-brother to stakes-winner Quidnunc and stakes-placed
Segolene and is the fourth winner for Group II placed Grand Lodge (USA) mare
Dorky.
Dorky was on-sold last year at the Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale, snapped up
by Supreme Thoroughbreds for $38,000.
She produced a filly by Epaulette last year for her new owners and will foal
this spring to Helmet.
