Artie Schiller strikes with another juvenile winner

Breednet - Friday June 3
Artie Dee Two turned his debut outing in to a one-horse affair when jumping straight to the front in a 2YO Maiden Plate staged on the Geelong Synthetic track over 1200m and ultimately winning the contest untouched.

Artie Dee Two as a yearlingA bay son of Emirates Park shuttle sire Artie Schiller (USA) trained by Darren Weir, Artie Dee Two took his place in the field as a $4.20 favourite and never gave his supporters a moment of concern with an authoritative one-length success at his first racetrack appearance.

Artie Dee Two is the latest 2-year-old winner for Artie Schiller in a 2015/16 juvenile season that has witnessed the sire-son of El Prado very much to the fore. Headlining the crop has, of course, been the Group winners Flying Artie and Good Standing, the former having also placed in both the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper at Group 1 level.

In addition to Flying Artie, Good Standing and a handful of other 2-year-old winners on the domestic racing season front, Artie Schiller was also responsible for a very recent juvenile winner in South Africa. Our Mate Art, bred in the same crop and sold at the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale for $135,000, won a Kenilworth maiden over 1200 metres in early May.

Artie Schiller stands his first ever breeding season in the Hunter Valley later this year at a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).
