Sun Stud's first season sire Moshe took his tally to three winners when the Mick Sell-trained gelding Moshway jumped straight to the front and kept up a relentless to capture Saturday's Samson Handicap (1200m) at Sandown-Lakeside.
Making his fifth trip to the races, Moshway flagged his ability at his first start when third in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington. He has been inconsistent in three starts since but he was on his best behaviour here under Darren Gauci.
While Moshway was freewheeling in front, Kevin Forrester was having a torrid time on the heavily backed debutant Ridgway who stormed home in the concluding stages to be beaten a half-length to deny one season shuttler Gio Ponti (USA) his first winner.

Moshe is one of just two first crop sires to record a stakes winner in Australia.
His daughter Moshki was a four and three-quarter length winner of the Listed SAJC Cinderella Stakes at Morphettville.
A brother to the undefeated champion Black Caviar and half-brother to multiple Group 1 winner All Too Hard, Moshe (pictured) stands at Sun Stud at a fee of $11,000.
